Happy Father's Day!

We visited our respective Fathers this weekend. Both nieces were at Dad's house on Saturday. They were very cute together. Virginia gave Samantha a big hug!! Very sweet. Dad was teaching both girls bad habits, they were jumping on the bed (not Dad, but the girls). It was good to see everyone.

The proud Father with all his ladies!!!

Virgina on the horsey.

One of my favorite pics. Samantha saw the camera and this is the face she came up with. The girl is hilarious!!

We visited Mike's Dad today. They'll be heading down to the beach for a few days this week. Unfortunately, Mike's sister's beach condo burned down this week. Luckily no one was there and no one was hurt. Mike's folks are going to go down and survey the damage.

It was a busy weekend visiting the family. Happy Father's Day, we love you!!

Wicked Weekend

We went to see Wicked this weekend. I loved it!! It was only the second Broadway show I've seen. The other was Little Shop of Horrors, which, coincidentally, I saw at the Little Theater in Gastonia as a kid. So, I've actually seen that show twice. Anyway, the set was amazing, the actors were amazing and the story was unique. It put a different spin on the Wizard of Oz story. I can see why it is such a nationwide hit. Mike, of course, was not as enthused as myself. He said it was torture. I really don't see how anyone could say it was torture. I just asked him if he was ready to see the next show in the Broadway series coming to Charlotte (Mary Poppins) and he asked me if I were crazy. I may have to make this my yearly anniversary request if I want to see anymore shows. Even then I doubt I'll be able to get that every year. If anyone is going to a show, let me know, I'm not afraid to be the third wheel!!

Happy Monday

I just love love love this song. Billy Currington is underrated!! This is a feel good summer song. Turn up the volume and enjoy.

P.S. Ignore the complete strangers in the video and enjoy the music.

Wastin' the Week Away

Some final pictures from St. Louis. Some actual ballgame pictures, just to prove that we did go to some games.

This week was pretty uneventful. The highlights:

  1. Discovered the wonderous product that is Oxiclean. I 'oxicleaned' some white capri's that I love and it dutifully removed the stain.
  2. Got my haircut slightly different...not a single person noticed the difference.
  3. Played Mike in Fantasy Baseball this week. It's close as of right now, but I did do something that no one else has accomplished to date. I beat him in stolen bases!!
  4. Had to go to Wal-Mart on Saturday instead of Friday. Everyone knows that I don't like to get thrown off my schedule.
  5. Presented a schlorship on behalf of the SECU Foundation at Statesville High on Tuesday.
  6. Mowed the grass. This has become a weekly occurance. You're welcome Mike!!
  7. Watched my fair share of the Women's College World Series. Sorry to see Hawaii lose.
  8. Started reading the latest Lee Child book. So far so good.
  9. Will probably turn my other book back into the library unfinished. It's just not that good. I'd avoid checking out 'The 24th Letter' if I were you.
  10. Took the dogs for a walk and nearly killed Yana. She literally fell out at the house and I hosed her down with a refreshing shower from the garden hose.

This week is shaping up to be just as exciting and entertaining as the previous week. I am looking forward to seeing Wicked on Saturday.

Right now we're watching Ice Road Truckers. We're doing 'recon' for our upcoming vacation. We'll be riding on that very road the first of July.

Have a nice week!!
